How to access Creative Insights
Click the thumbnail in a report to see the creative preview
Hit the Creative Insights button at the top
On the left, you can swap between placement-specific ad previews (with CTAs and copy) and copy/download the creatives directly.

Each tab on the right covers different info for the creative:
Overview - Total spend in your chosen date range and how spend is trending since last week (holding, declining, scaling), launch date, active/inactive status. You'll also see custom tags, AI tags (Meta only) for the creative and thought starters for AI chat (Meta only) to analyze or rework it.
Performance - ad platform-specific views for going deep in your creative strategy. More info below + check out this video guide.
Transcripts - You can copy time-stamped sections (great for keywords) or scroll down and copy the entire transcript.
How to check when an ad was launched
You can view the launch date of any ad (active or inactive) right inside Creative Insights. Motion does not show a running count of days an ad has been active or inactive, but the launch date gives you a clear reference point for how long an ad has been in your account.
To find the launch date:
Click the thumbnail of the ad you want to review.
Hit the Creative Insights button at the top.
On the Overview tab, locate the launch date indicator. It displays as a relative timestamp (for example, "11 weeks ago").
Hover over the timestamp to reveal the exact launch date.
Performance breakdowns in Creative Insights (ad platform-specific)
Meta
Video analysis (Audience retention and Drop off)
Placement breakdown (compare metrics by feed, reels, etc.)
Gender & age breakdown for metrics like Impressions
Performance metrics (save preset groups of metrics that you care about most and view them here)
Ad comments (view Instagram or Facebook comments left for each ad, perfect for working an audience response into your next creative sprint).
TikTok
Video Analysis (CTR, Audience retention, Drop off, CVR, Clicks, Conversions) - TikTok allows you to dive deeper into video plays, seeing exactly when the viewer performed an action (see below!)
Gender & age breakdown for metrics like Impressions
Performance metrics (save preset groups of metrics that you care about most and view them here)
There are some scenarios where Video Play charts will not show in the Creative Insights view.
TikTok Spark ads
Meta carousel ads (as there may be multiple videos)
Dynamic creative ads
Meta page posts - whether a boosted / whitelisted post, or an ad that was turned into a page post for engagement (reach out to us to potentially solve this scenario - as there may be a permissions issues)
Share Creative Insights with your team
You can share the Creative Insights view of an ad directly with your team.
Hit the Copy Link button to grab a URL to the creative-specific view.
This link isn't shareable with anyone outside your Motion organization, only listed users can use this link.
Creative Insights are accessible to all levels of Motion members - Owner, Admin, Collaborators, and Guests.

For Guests to see creative insights they must connect their Meta/TikTok profile in My Connections in their settings.

You can copy scripts right from Creative Insights. Grab keywords, repurpose hooks, and revisit your top performers in a few clicks.

The transcript feature is also available in Inspo when you're viewing ads from other brands.
