What are AI tasks?
AI tasks are specialized AI agents created by real industry experts working in DTC (direct-to-consumer). They perform creative strategy tasks by analyzing real creative and from your ad account to give you recommendations unique to your brand.
Unlike general-purpose AI tools, these strategists provide specific and nuanced outputs. These tasks are like having an expert analyze your strategy or guide your daily work.
They speed up customer research, find opportunities in your ad data, gut-check your strategy, and increase your creative output.
Run tasks from your homepage 🏠
When you log in, boom. You can start running AI tasks on your top creatives from this week. In the upper right-hand corner of your screen, select the Explore AI tasks drop-down to view curated prompts from our Motion agent, and get a global overview of your account!
Note for existing workspaces: If your workspace was created before our recent updates, you may still see an Explore agents section in your left sidebar with additional AI Creative Strategists. These legacy agents remain available in older workspaces but are no longer being added to new accounts as we focus on enhancing the Motion Agent's capabilities.

Running AI tasks 🛠
You can run 3 kinds of AI tasks in Motion:
Account-wide tasks live in the Explore AI tasks dropdown in the top-right. Start with: Analyze my creative diversity. It breaks down your visual, messaging, and concept variety over the last 30 days, so good for picking where to expand your options. It's quickly becoming one of our most popular tasks.
Report-level tasks appear near the top of each report, just below your filters and date range. Analyze this report is our most popular AI task, it breaks down what's working, what's not, and helps spark where to go next.
Analyze this report will only appear in your report when grouped by Ad name or grouped by Creative. It will not appear when grouped by Landing page or grouped by Copy.
Creative-level tasks can be run by double-clicking the thumbnail, opening Creative Insights, and choosing which task you'd like to run. Some to start with:
Analyze this ad
Give me new hook ideas based on this ad
Spark wild ideas based on this ad
📫 AI Task Inbox
Inbox keeps every task you've run organized. It's also great for finding completed tasks that you started but last track of.
Use it to idea, analysis, and iteration organized and searchable. Each task links back to its creative so you can revisit winning ideas fast.
FAQs
Which AI task should I run first?
We highly recommend starting with Analyze this report, it's our most popular AI task because it gives you a plain-English summary of what's working.
It recognizes your filters so you can narrow down creative for quick analysis. Perfect when your team is asking "which ads are crushing it right now?"
Once you've tried that, check out Analyze my creative diversity for a low, medium, or high rating for the last 30 days.
How long do AI tasks take to run/process?
It depends on the type of task you're running. Account-wide tasks can be as quick as 1-2 minutes, but for larger accounts they may take closer to 10 minutes. Report-level or creative level tasks should be in a few minutes max.
If you notice processing times significantly longer than this, please let our Support team know so we can take a closer look.
My AI tasks are failing to run, why is that?
We're constantly improving the logic behind our tasks, but sometimes bugs show up. There's more info right here. If you're seeing a task fail repeatedly, let us know.
How do I share task outputs?
Use the Share button in the top right of your task output (report) to create a Snapshot. You can add details like "check out idea #3, feels like a winner" and share the link in Slack, email, or a project management tool.
Anyone with the link can view it, no need for them to sign up, just good ideas, faster.
Do AI Agents support custom Conversion Events?
AI Agents pull data from Creative Summaries, which only include standard Meta metrics like spend, purchases, and ROAS. They don’t include custom conversions, since Meta doesn’t provide those at the creative level.
What this means:
Your Agent outputs may not line up with reports that use custom conversions.
For the most accurate view of custom conversions, rely on your saved Motion reports.
Agents are best used for spotting creative trends and surfacing insights from your standard Meta data.
