Saving ads, using Brand Intel, managing & sharing Boards

Getting Started: Chrome Extension Integration

To make saving ads a breeze, we've introduced a Chrome extension that adds a "Save to Motion" button to each ad in both the TikTok and the Meta ads library. Here’s how it works:

  1. Install the Motion Chrome Extension: Available exclusively for Chrome users.

  2. Once the extension is installed, head back to your Creative Research Library in Motion.

Set up your first Board

You can set up Boards that reflect different themes or inspirations. For example, you could have a Board for "Us vs. Them" comparisons or one for "Dramatic Demonstrations” - the sky is the limit here and you can create as many Boards as you’d like!

Pro Tip: Once you’ve created a Board, you can easily rename, duplicate, or delete it under your “Boards” section by hovering over its name and selecting the “...” icon.

Save ads easily

There are two ways to start saving ads in Motion.

1. Using Motion Chrome Extension

Whether browsing through Meta’s Ad Library or TikTok’s Ad Library, you can save ads directly to Motion for future reference. Visit any brand’s ad library page on Meta or TikTok, and via the Chrome extension, search any brand, and click the "Save to Motion" button that appears for each ad.

Pro Tip: To stay organized, you can check off the Board you want to save the ad to in the dropdown menu of the “Save to Motion” button.

When a user saves an ad, it gets shared with the entire organization. This ensures that everyone has access to the latest and greatest creative inspiration.

2. Using Brand Intel

In Motion, you can follow entire brands through the Brand Intel section, and study your competitor’s media mix, track new messaging or offer experiments, and dive into what’s working on your competitor’s top landing pages.

Callout: This feature is exclusively compatible with the Meta Ads Library at this time.

To do so, head to the Brand Intel section under your Creative Research Library. There, you can either search by a brand’s name or by entering a brand’s Facebook Ads Library url.

Once the brand appears, you can select “Follow” and ads will automatically load into your Motion account. You can sort a brand’s ads by newest or by longest-running, giving you valuable insights into the effectiveness of their campaigns over time.

When you follow a brand, anytime they publish a new ad you’ll see it in your Creative Research Library. When you click on an ad, it opens in Meta for full viewing. Follow as many brands as you like—there’s no cap, and you can unfollow anytime.

Gain Deeper Brand Analysis with Brand Intel

You can dive deeper into brand insights by viewing their media mix, which showcases the ad formats (videos, images) they’re running and their landing page strategy. Want to know if they’re sending traffic to a collection, product page, or a blog review first? You can access this breakdown by clicking into the brand for a detailed view.

Get Granular Insights for your Creative Research

Click on any saved ad for more insights

Each pinned ad includes comprehensive information such as:

  • Ad Preview (copy, CTA, as well as a direct link to the ad)

  • Brand details

  • Active status

  • Duration of activity

  • Landing page URL

  • Platforms the ad lives on

  • The name of the team member that saved an ad and when

  • Transcripts for Voiceover Ads: When an ad has voiceover audio, you can access a full transcript, copy parts of it, or download the transcript for future reference.

  • GIF/Video Download: Download ads as GIFs or full videos to include in briefs or presentations.

Managing your saved ads easily

Go to “All Saved Ads” hover over an ad and select it to bulk-save ads to multiple boards at a time or bulk-delete ads using the pop-up menu that appears at the bottom of your screen.

In your Boards, you can sort ads by recently added (default: newest to oldest, or oldest to newest).

Change your mind about an ad you saved in your Creative Research library? Click the top-right “...” icon to remove the ad!

No Expiry on Saved Ads

Once saved in Motion, ads are yours to keep—even if they’re removed from Facebook’s Ad Library. You'll always have access to inspiration without worrying about it disappearing.

Sharing your Inspiration

Easily share your inspiration by creating a public link! Share the link to a board with anyone without requiring organization access in Motion!

Viewers can access and view the shared board but not any other boards in your organization. Whether you’re an agency sharing with your clients or a brand sharing with external creators, this feature makes it easy.

Pro Tip: Share your boards for inspiration with your clients or team for creative briefings or put together different ads from your competition for market research and analysis.
