Creating an influencer comparison report

  • Set up your folder structure

    • Start by creating a folder for your influencer reports to keep everything organized

  • Build a comparative report

    • Comparative reports are perfect for grouping creatives by qualitative elements like the creators you're working with

  1. Click Create report >> Comparative analysis report

  2. Name it something like "Influencer Comparison" so you can easily find it later

Group by creator

The key to tracking influencer performance is making sure each creator's name appears in your ad names. Once that's set up:

  1. Click to create custom groups

  2. Use filters to group ads by creator (e.g., "Ad name contains [creator name]")

  3. Add a group for each influencer you want to compare

Motion will automatically group all ads associated with each creator.

Choose your metrics

Pick the top 4 metrics that matter most for evaluating creator performance:

  • Spend - See how much scale is behind each creator

  • Hook rate - Measure their ability to grab attention

  • Watch rate - Track how well they hold attention

  • Conversion rate - Evaluate their ability to drive conversions

The report will show total performance across all ads for each creator, helping you identify who's delivering the most scalable results.

Diving deeper into top creator content

Once you've identified your best-performing creator, you can analyze their specific creatives:

  1. Click Create report >> Top performing report

  2. Filter for that creator's content

  3. Add performance metrics like Hook score, Watch score, and Conversion score

  4. Layer in AI-generated tags like messaging angle or visual format to spot patterns in what's working

Sharing reports with creators

You can pull together your top-performing creatives into reports that creators can check out without needing their own Motion account - perfect creative briefs and sharing feedback!

Create a shareable report

  1. Create a new Top performing report

  2. Name it clearly (e.g., "Top UGC Ads")

  3. Set your date range

  4. Add filters like "Ad name contains UGC"

  5. Filter by ad type (e.g., video only)

Customize what creators see

Since you're sharing externally, clean up the Table view:

  1. Click Customize Columns

  2. Remove metrics you don't want to share externally (e.g., Spend)

  3. Keep creator-focused metrics (e.g., Hook score, Watch score, etc.)

  4. Add AI tags like Hook tactic, Messaging angle, Visual format, and Intended audience

Add performance filters (optional)

You can filter to only show ads above a certain spend threshold (like spend > 5%) to highlight your top performers.

Share the report

  1. Click Share report

  2. Copy the link

  3. Send it to your creators

Creators will be able to see the creatives, watch the videos, and view all the performance metrics you've included - but they won't be able to leave comments unless they have a Motion account.

This gives creators a visual reference showing what's working, so they can see things like which hook tactics grab attention best or which approaches drive the most conversions.

Pro tip: You can automate influencer grouping through naming conventions. Check out our article on setting up naming conventions to streamline this process.
