Joining an existing Motion Creative Analytics organization is simple, but there are a few key setup steps to make sure your reports load correctly and you can preview all ad content without errors. Follow this step-by-step guide to get connected.
Step 1: Accept your email invite
When your team adds you to their Motion organization, you’ll receive an email invitation.
Click through the prompts in the email to officially join.
This ensures you’re synced to the correct organization.
⚠️ Important: Do not try to sign up directly through the Motion website. Doing so can create a duplicate trial account that won’t be linked to your team.
Step 2: Connect your ad platform profiles
Once you’ve joined, the next step is to connect your ad platform profiles. These profiles determine whether Motion can access your ad accounts and reporting data.
Go to Bottom left menu → Account settings → My connections.
Connect your Meta and/or TikTok profiles (depending on which ad accounts you’ll be using).
Make sure the profile you connect already has permissions to the ad accounts you need.
Without the right permissions, Motion will not be able to load your reports fully.
Step 3: Verify permissions and reporting access
After connecting your profile:
Try opening reports in your workspace.
If your profile doesn’t have permissions, you’ll likely only see 14 days of data or receive a message prompting you to connect a profile.
To unlock full reporting windows, ensure your connected profile has the correct access in Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Business Center, and/or Google Ads Manager.
Step 4: Troubleshoot content previews
If you run into issues previewing creative content (for example, you can’t view a video or see a permissions error):
Double-check that your connected profile has page or ad account permissions.
If problems persist, reach out to Motion support. Our team can walk you through the next steps to resolve preview or permissions issues.
