What is Organic in Inspo?
The Organic section is a newer addition to Inspo that surfaces trending organic content from TikTok that's relevant to your brand's audience and category. Think of it as the same swipe file experience you're used to in Inspo, but for organic posts instead of paid ads.
The goal is to help you spot what's resonating organically so you can pull inspiration for both ad creative and organic strategy.
Where to find it
Open Inspo from the left sidebar in Motion. You'll see Organic listed as a section in the Inspo menu. Once you open it, you'll see a curated feed of TikTok organic content along with engagement data, creator info, and relevance context.
How recommendations are generated
Organic recommendations are personalized for each workspace. Here's what happens behind the scenes:
Motion tries to build a full brand context from your workspace. If a data source is connected, we use that. Otherwise, we fall back to a mini AI job based on your brand domain to understand your industry, audience, and category. From there, AI generates a list of relevant search terms based on your brand's context. Those search terms are used to find organic TikTok content that aligns with your brand. The content is then scored and ranked using a formula that weighs several factors, including how closely the content matches your brand's relevance, how strong the performance signals are (shares, saves, comments, and views), whether the content matched across multiple keywords, and how recently it was posted.
The result is a curated set of organic posts that are most likely to be relevant and high performing for your brand's space.
What to expect when Organic is first enabled
When Organic is first turned on for your workspace, you may see a "No recommendations yet" message. This is normal. The system needs some time to generate your first batch of recommendations. Typically, this takes about an hour as the system gathers your brand context and then scrapes and scores relevant content.
After the initial batch, you'll receive new recommendations on a daily basis (roughly 10β20 recommendations in the first batch, then around 1β4 new ones each day going forward).
Saving organic content
You can save organic posts from the Organic section to your boards just like you would with paid ads. This lets you organize organic inspiration alongside your ad creative research in one place.
How to use organic in your workflow
Here are a few ways teams are using Organic:
Spot formats trending on TikTok: See which organic formats and styles are gaining traction and consider testing them in your paid creative.
Bridge organic and paid: Use organic content that's performing well as inspiration for ad creative. Content that resonates organically often translates well to paid when adapted with the right hooks and CTAs.
Stay current on your category: The recommendations are tailored to your brand's space, so you're always seeing what's relevant rather than having to manually search TikTok for inspiration.
FAQs
What platform does Organic in Inspo pull from?
Currently, Organic surfaces content from TikTok. We're exploring additional platforms and will share updates as they become available.
Why am I seeing "No recommendations yet"?
This means the system is still generating your first batch of recommendations. It typically takes about an hour after the feature is enabled for your workspace. Once the first batch is ready, new recommendations will come in daily. In some cases, we may not have been able to build your brand context (for example, if a data source wasn't connected during onboarding or we couldn't access your domain). If it's been more than a day, reach out to our support team and we can take a look and manually kick off the process for you.
How are recommendations personalized?
Recommendations are based on your workspace's brand context, including your domain, industry, and category. The AI generates relevant search terms and scores content based on relevance, performance, and recency.
Can I influence what recommendations I see?
Right now, recommendations are generated automatically based on your brand context. We're actively building on this feature and exploring ways to give users more control over what surfaces in their feed.
Is Organic available for all workspaces?
Yes! Organic is available for all paid and trial users. If you don't see the Organic section in your Inspo menu, reach out to our support team and we can look into it for you.
Will organic posts look different from paid ads in Inspo?
Yes, organic posts have their own card style that includes engagement metrics like views, shares, saves, and comments. The experience is similar to browsing the Discover feed, but the data displayed is specific to organic performance rather than ad spend metrics.
