Share a report with Live links

Want to share specific reports with clients or partners without giving them full workspace access? LiveLinks lets you share individual reports that recipients can explore and customize - without affecting your original data.

How Live link works

Live link creates a view-only connection to your report. Recipients get live data they can explore and customize, but they can't save changes or affect your original report. Perfect for agencies sharing with clients or teams collaborating with external partners.

Live links are currently available for Meta reports only. TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn aren't supported yet.

Share a Live link

  1. Open the report you want to share

  2. Click Share Report >> Share live link

  3. Click Add a new partner

  4. Enter the recipient's email address

  5. Select which reports you want to share with them (you can pick multiple)

  6. Click Send invitation

The recipient will get an email invitation to view the report.

Manage your Live links

Need to add more reports for a partner or remove their access? Here's how to manage your shared links:

  1. Click your workspace dropdown >> Workspace settings

  2. Go to Shared Reports

  3. Click Manage next to any partner

From here you can:

  • Add more reports to share with that partner

  • Remove a partner's access completely

  • View all active partners and pending invitations

What recipients can do

If they already have a Motion account: The shared report(s) will appear in their workspace automatically.

If they don't have a Motion account: They'll create a free organization that only contains the report(s) you've shared. No data source connection required.

Recipients can:

  • View live data from your shared reports

  • Change metrics, filters, and visualizations to explore the data

  • Invite team members to their free organization to view the same reports

Recipients can't:

  • Save any changes they make

  • Affect your original report in any way

  • Access other reports in your workspace

Important limitations

Private domains (one email per domain):

  • You can only invite one person per private email domain (e.g., if you invite [email protected], you can't add another email from @company.com).

Public domains (multiple emails allowed):

  • You can invite multiple addresses from public domains like Gmail, since they don't represent a single organization.

Why use Live Link instead of guest access?

Use guest access when you want someone to see everything in your workspace. Use Live Link when you want to share specific reports without giving broader access - like sharing campaign results with a client while keeping other client data private.
