Setting up the Slack integration in Motion
To start, you'll need to contact our team to get access to this feature turned on for your account.
Once that's confirmed, follow these steps:
Go to the dropdown menu in the top-left >> Workspace settings >> My connections
Choose Connect next to Slack (You might need to ask a Slack Workspace Admin to do this step for you)
You'll see "Connected to Motion" when it's ready to use!
Scheduling a report analysis as a Slack message
Now that your Slack connection is set up, when you open any top ads report you should see a Slack icon in the top-right next to your sharing options.
Customize the report as needed (apply filters, add metrics, change date ranges).
When you're ready - click the Slack icon. This opens the Schedule Report Analysis menu. Here's what you can customize:
A daily, weekly, or monthly cadences to send a report analysis
The time & time zone for delivery
Pick the Slack channel you want to send to
And add a note (optional) with extra context for the Slack message
ex: Here's our weekly recap of top performing video, team!
Click Schedule to finalize it.
You can also send an example with mock data to see what a notification looks like in Slack. Note: This will send a general example, not specific to your report's filters, metrics, etc.
Note: This beta feature relies on the "Analyze this report" AI task to run properly.
The Slack message will be a condensed version of the task output. It does not send a link to your exact report.

Deleting scheduled Slack messages
Once you have at least 1 regularly scheduled report message, you can click the Slack icon and see a list of all of the ones you've set up and delete them by hitting the trash can icon.
FAQs about using Slack with Motion
Can I send a one-time report analysis?
Right now, we're only supporting regularly scheduled messages (daily, weekly, or monthly). But if you want to use a one-time send, create a daily report, choose a time ~10 minutes into the future, schedule it, and then delete the scheduled send once it's arrived in your Slack.
Can I send to a private Slack channel?
Yes! Follow the steps above and come back here for specific settings for private channels.
Ensure the Motion Notification App is connected to your Slack workspace.
In Slack, go to your private channel's settings and click on the Integrations tab

4. Select the Motion Notification App
5. Refresh your report and you should see your private channel as an option in the in the channel picker!
