Beta: As a brand new feature that we're continuing to test and improve, please note that some bugs may arise. Your feedback is always valuable—let us know if something doesn't work as intended.

Install instructions

Step 1: Install the Test Flight app on your iPhone: https://testflight.apple.com/join/1CPPuhFs

Step 2: Accept the invite to the Motion Beta. This is the second link on the page from Step 1. It must be opened on a mobile device with Test Flight installed to work.

Logging in

Use your existing Motion account to log in via email or through Google.

Note: For beta, we do not support signing up for a new Motion account in the mobile app.

Home screen

After logging in you will see the number of ads you have saved in Creative Research. If you haven't yet saved an ad you’ll be encouraged to get started.

Saving ads and organic posts

When you see an ad or organic post in your Instagram feed that you'd like to save, follow these steps:

  1. Click the 'Share' icon on the ad (the one that looks like a paper airplane)

  2. Click the 'Share to' icon.

3. This will bring up the native iOS share function. From there, select the Motion app icon.

If Motion doesn't appear, follow these additional steps:

a) scroll right and select the "… More" icon. Here you can add Motion to your favorite apps so it will always appear.

b) Click edit then scroll to the Motion app in the list of apps and tap the green + icon to add it to your favorites. Also, make sure the Motion app toggle is turned on (like in the screenshot below) to allow sharing.

c) To have the Motion app show up first you can click, hold, and drag it to the top of the list.

d) Tap "Done" in the top right and now the Motion app will always appear in your list of top apps.

4. Now that you've saved the ad/post to the Motion app you can save it to a specific board!

If you do nothing here the ad will be saved to 'All saved ads' in Creative Research and you'll be returned to Instagram.

If you want to save it to a board you can scroll and select from your current boards...

Or search for it. You can also create a new list by typing in a new name and selecting 'Create'.

When you're done, you'll see a confirmation message and return to Instagram.

Additional info

  • Ads/posts saved on mobile are queued and then processed, so they'll probably take a few minutes to appear in Creative Research on desktop. We did this so you can get back to scrolling through your mobile feed right away to find more inspiration.

  • The mobile app was built to save inspiration on the go, so currently you have to switch to desktop to view your boards and saved ads.

  • If your Motion account has access to multiple organizations, you can switch which organization you are saving to each time.

  • There are some pieces of content we cannot save due to permission settings—such as a post from a private account.

  • Instagram stories are not supported right now.
