Seeing a "connect to TikTok to see report" error like this?

Completing your profile set up in Motion

With Motion, in order to pull in report data, you must connect your TikTok profile to Motion to order to access your ad account data and load your reports, even if invited to a workspace that's already been set up.

This account needs to also have "edit" access to the ad account in TikTok.

Think of it this way: the workspace invite is like being given access to the shared drive, but connecting your profile is like signing in to actually see the files 🔎

How to connect:

  1. Go to Workspace settings (top left of Motion).

  2. Select “My Connections”

  3. Sign in with TikTok!

Or, just click "Connect with TikTok" and follow the prompts 🚀


  • The user connected here will also need permissions to the ad account on TikTok's end. To set this up, head to the business manager on TikTok's end.

  • In your TikTok business manager, under Users > Assets, ensure the user connected to Motion is also listed here under the Advertiser accounts tab.

  • You'll also want to ensure the user is listed under the TikTok accounts tab as well (if there are any spark ads connected to the account, you'll require permissions here in order to get access to the creative assets for previewing and thumbnails).

Once permissions have been given to the ad account for the user, reports should load in Motion.

Oh, and don't worry, connecting your TikTok profile (with ad account access in Meta) won't give us or your employer/client any access or visibility into your personal profile 🤗

This is simply a security requirement from TikTok to pull your ad data into Motion.
