Do I lose my snapshot links if I delete an ad account from Motion?

Yes, when you delete an ad account from Motion, or you disconnect it, you will lose the snapshot links you've created for this ad account. We recommend keeping your share-links aligned with active accounts.

Can I update the name of an ad after it's been published? Will those changes be reflected in Motion?

Yes - you can update the names of previous ads and those changes will show in Motion.

Keep in mind, if you are connected to Google Analytics, you may run into issues with your UTM parameters. If you are not using Ad ID for an identifier, the name change could cause issues with tracking.

Why can't I add Google Analytics metrics to my comparative reports?

Currently, Google Analytics metrics only works on Top Performing reports, not Comparative Reports.

Does Motion pull in ads that are in a "learning stage" on Meta?

Yes, Motion pulls in Active, Inactive, and Learning ads on Meta. βœ…

Why is Northbeam not pulling in data when selecting a larger window of time?

Currently, when looking at Northbeam metrics in Motion, you can pull in data for up to the last 365 days.

You can go back into any timeframe you'd like to pull for a report, but you cannot choose more than a 365 window of time in one report.

What currency does Motion pull in for data?

With Motion reports, we pull in the same currency you are using in your ad account for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, or LinkedIn.

What should I do if I get a "Failed to download GIF" error message?

If you encounter a "Failed to download GIF" error message, try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Clear your browser cache. 2. Restart your browser. 3. Perform a hard refresh by using Cmd + Shift + R (or Ctrl + Shift + R). 4. If the issue persists, try logging out and logging back in. These steps should help resolve the issue.

Does Motion integrate with Pinterest ads?

No, Motion doesn't directly integrate with Pinterest ads.

Is it possible to combine different reports into one view?

Motion does not allow combining different reports into one long-scroll view. Each report is its own snapshot. However, you can display multiple reports side-by-side in a presentation, which is similar to grouping them, though not in the same continuous scroll. This is a workaround that lets you show the reports together without merging all the data into one.

Will I be charged after canceling my plan?

No, no future invoices will be scheduled after cancellation.

What should I do if thumbnails are not pulling in Motion, and what does the "Preview Unavailable" error mean?

If thumbnails are not pulling in Motion, try refreshing the page as the data might be syncing, which can cause a delay in displaying thumbnails. The "Preview Unavailable" error can occur when data is still syncing between Motion and the ad account. Refreshing the page may help resolve this issue as well.

What should I do if I can't find my Motion organization invite?

Check your spam folder for the invite from your team member.

How long does it take for an event recording to be available on YouTube?

Event recordings are typically available on YouTube within 24-48 hours after the event.

How do we disconnect our ad account?

To disconnect your ad account head to Workspace settings >> Data sources, then, next to the ad account you would like to remove, click Edit, click the three dots, and select Disconnect. Keep in mind, this will remove all associated data to your ad account in Motion, and it cannot be retrieved!

If I update ad names in Meta/TikTok/YouTube, will Motion reports automatically sync with these changes?

Yes, when you update the ad name directly in a corrisponding ads manager, the report in Motion will update after the next sync is completed.

Is there an AND statement in the filter, or is it only OR?

The filter uses OR statements. To achieve AND-like functionality, you can set up separate filters: one for "ad name doesn't include ABC" and another for "ad name doesn't include DEF." You can view them one by one, or if you're pulling a report, filter them separately there. This method provides a way to achieve the desired filtering results.

Can Motion access first-party data when connecting to a Meta ad account?

No, when connecting a Meta ad account to Motion, data only flows one way, and only ad performance metrics are viewable. Meta strictly restricts access to any other first-party data. You can read more about our privacy agreement here: https://motionapp.com/privacy.

What is the equivalent of Hook Rate (3-Second Video Views / Impressions) in Motion?

The equivalent metric is called "Thumbstop Ratio".

Why can I only choose 8 ads in a report?

When you're in the bar graph view, it becomes challenging to aggregate a solid visual analysis of your different groupings without it getting too condensed. Therefore, we limit the number of ad groups you can select to up to 8. However, if you toggle your report to the "card view," you can select an infinite number of ad groups there.

How can I add a client's email to multiple accounts if I encounter an error saying the "Client is already added"?

Navigate to your organization's members list in the organization settings. From there, you can check the invitation status for new members, and if you click on them, you can re-invite them or change their access to different workspaces.

How do I separate by video vs. static?

On your report add a filter > Ad Setup > Ad Type and select "Ad Type is Video" or "Ad Type is Image".

I want to cancel my free trial. How do I do this?

Your trial will naturally expire after 14 days. We don't take your credit card before your trial starts so no need to worry about a payment happening without your consent.
